I'm powder coating my forks in a couple days. I saw a write up a while back where someone had done this and didn't see if there were any issues sliding the forks back in the triple clamp.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

no issues at all

Sweet, that's pretty much what I needed. Game on.

One more question: Does anyone know how to take the Buell nameplate off the triple clamps and reinstall it after powder coating is done?

i just powdercoated my forks last week. Still havnt filled them with oil but i have slide them in and out of my triples a few times to measure things since i was using the forks in X1 triples.... Sliding them in and out carefully only left a very few MINOR scratches in the mounting areas only. Nothing you can see. I have since decided to use XB triples and ordered them, still waiting

it's stuck on with adhesive so it bends immediately but the name plate is cheap to re order

I walked into the powder coaters office to pick them up and asked the guy how much? He goes Hundred bucks, ugh 75$. =nice

Pull the name plate off with Dental Floss. Then re-attach with double sided tape (after you get ALL of the old tape off).
