I want the buy the Bell Vortex Flying Tiger helmet. I can't find anyone around me who carries this helmet, or even Bell helmets at all. It's the Chicago-land area, why the hell doesn't anyone carry Bell helmets?

Anyway, so looks like I'll have to order it online. Alright, so I go to Pink Gorilla (like a good XBer, heh) and they have it. Now here's the problem. I have a head that doesn't like to fit anything.

Sunglasses and safety glasses are a pain to buy because most aren't wide enough. I had a hard time finding a comfortable helmet originally. That shop I bought it from, and who did carry Bells, is closed down now. I really wanted to try this one on before I bought it.

I have a Bell Sprint in size large. Anyone know if the Vortex will fit the same way? I want to avoid paying to ship the thing back and delaying the process even further if it doesn't fit.

This might be a question for Bell. They were quick to answer my questions about helmet shell sizing when I emailed them.

Go on youtube and lookup the bell vortex on "revzillas" youtube page. They usually say the headshape and running size. I did that before I got my Bell Star Carbon, and I'll tell ya it feels great and there isnt much freeplay inside, and I hear the vortex is similar to the star on the inside. good luck

kawasaki in elgin carries them they have that helmet in stock. its like bbk motorsports or something. I was just in there last week.

their prices are the same as online as well. and they also have the bell star, arrow, revolver, and solid vortex.

Ah, nice.

Ah, going by the websites none of the BBK sites (or ones with the exact same setup) listed Bell at all. Other makes, yes. But not Bell.

From other dealers in the area I basically got, "We don't sell Bell."

Looks like they're closed right now. I'll call them tomorrow. It's about an hour drive, but I could have it the same day. I'm kinda impatient when it comes to getting my new toys.

i hear ya. I wish I could remember which road it was on. there is the main Kawasaki/ honda dealer and they have a second store down the road that has the bell helmets all on a rack. I want to say its off Dupage street. about five blocks down the road from the store shown on their website.

Thanks gtp3800!

Turns out that I needed an XL.

Yep bell helmets typically run big. I wear an xl in most, but my large C-Note still has some room.

Hmmmm... I was just imagining what my face would feel like if it looked like that...
