So i recently got a 2001 buell x1 and am having some issues. It misses a fire on one of the cylinders from time to time, sometimes this kills the bike. When I am riding between 2-3 rpm at about 1/8 throttle, it will start to sputter out like it is going to die then come back, and then repeat until I give it some more throttle. I have only had the bike about a week and so have only put about 97 miles on it around town, and my fuel light came on. I had to put 4.2 gallons in, equating to about 23mpg. From what I have read this is much lower than I should be. The only thing that I have done at this point is a TPS reset.(did not fix problem)

Mods on bike
D&D exhaust
Race ECM
Forcewinder intake
Crankcase Breather Mod
and few other visual things not relevant

Please let me know what you think might be wrong.

Thanks for your help
Matt

yes check the plugs & replace its cheap, then replace wires if the plug change did not help. Then I would do a coil test with ECMspy and then try to locate a replacement. Then if that doesnt clear it up.....idk haha

I will look in to that, I did replace the plugs(sorry forgot to mention that)... would that effect my mpg that much?

With it not running right it would use a lot more gas. I would definitly try new plug wires next. And since u got a tuber there easy to change anyways
