Race ECM with stock(ish) exhaust

Hi all,

I picked up a nice '05 xb9sx last week and I've been loving it so far...except for one thing: the Jardine!

Don't get me wrong, it sounds heavenly, but my ears are ringing after 2 minutes. I plan to commute with the bike so I don't want all my neighbors to hate me.

The bike came with the Jardine RT-1, race ECM, and stock filter (seller said it was k & n but I didn't check until last night, oh well).

So my question: Can I run a stock exhaust (maybe drilled out a bit) with the race ECM? Can I use ECM Spy on the race ECM?

Yes you can take a Stock Exhaust and Uhhh, Alter it.Or look around on E-bay,for a stock can.I wouldn't mess with the Muffler until you hear it on the Bike.This Stock Muffler is Very quite and on a trip like yours would be Refreshing.Now That Being that you have a Jardine, for saving your money (repack) it really good with some maybe Moose Racing Packing,While it's apart get a muffler Shop to make a [slip over] the rear exhaust tail piece D/B killer an remove it when you want to. Just make sure to redo the jardine Exactly on the inside(may ) want to research it on the Jardine site,in case it's been worked on already.Also a tail pipe you could also make a nice extension out to the side and slightly back so the sound is behind you.Kinda GP style Lot less expensive this way too!Make sure to reset TPS on the bike after you do your mods.Have fun with it.`Jimi[cool]

I was thinking about a repack and insert as an option.
