So is there any difference from my race ecm I got back in the day and the ebr ecm that you can get now?

Are you talking about in looks or in maps? Because the if you get one from EBR they have labels of the year and model of your bike. The old ones have Race use only on it. But for maps I can't tell you.

maps are very different, the ones from EBR come pre-loaded with a map for whatever pipe and intake combo you choose to buy.

the old race ecm was an early learning ecm but was primarily set for the race pipe and intake

I am also betting that the internals are more sophisticated too
