race ecm's

i am using ecm spy. can i burn race xb12r race ecm over xb9r race ecm. or can
i use the xb9r race ecm like it is. i have installed it but only started and idled.

i need help. i installed a xb9r race ecm in my buell xb12s

i used ecmspy to reset tps. i started bike and it runs. i was not aware if was for xb9 when i purchased it. if you have any suggestions or information i would appreciated it

The short answer is yes. As long as the ECM's match (BUE1D or BUE2D. ECMSpy will tell you) you can burn whatever program you need on it. I believe the only difference in the stock ECM's of the same year is that the 12 has an output for the active exhaust. The question is why did you buy it instead of just programming the ECM you have?




Caveat: I don't know everything. This has been my experience so far. You mileage may vary, professional rider on a closed course, do not attempt, wear your seatbelt, hug your mommy.

thank you for responding. so, I can use the xb9r race ecm like it is? I am afraid of damaging motor. also, I am using the new ecm spy and I have trouble copying
race ecm to installed ecm. thanks
