I am searching for a "race tune" for an 08 XB12 BUEOD DDFI3 ECM using ECM Droid and BuellTooth. Seems as though I can find free tunes for every ECM type except BUEOD; I've got a K&N Filter with open airbox and Hawk muffler. Any help would be greatly appreciated! -Thanks!
I read that entire thread before I posted, it's not helpful. But thanks anyway.
If I wanted to pay for a service like Xoptiinside for a tune, I'd just go have it dyno tuned professionally. I am looking for a race tune to get me in the ballpark, then I can tweak from there.
Good luck finding one for free. Seems like free DDFI3 tunes are about as sparce as Erik Buells financial backing.
Oh dam.
That was effed up.
Anyway, you can search and search for a free tune and I'm pretty sure you'll just come up empty handed.
I would just find someone selling a race ECM for your model year and use that as your tuning basis.
At least then you have a spare ECM just in case you brick the other.
Damn Chicken! Thats harsh:upset: True.... but harsh
Tim at idspd.com sells the later model ECM's with the programs for your pipe.
Or you can pay to have Xopti install the same program onto your ECM for much less. Theres other guys too, but he seems to be the most popular right now.
I don't know where to get a free map for the later bikes (...yet:black_eyed
BTW I've never actually seen an example of the infamous 'bricked' ECM (at least by ECMDroid ). It's like a Yeti! Someone always knows someone who's seen one, or has a buddy... but I use that program and it's fool proof, even for a Jackalope like me! It literally will not load the wrong program onto the wrong firmware version.
Whats with the influx of new guys needing 08-09 maps? There must be at least 5 in the last week?
The other option is self tuning - which you can learn to do on your own and is free if you're a cheap SOB like me. There are a number of how-to guides posted, but it isn't a 10 minute process like loading a purchased ECM or map.
Different people value their time to learn (free) vs. cost to buy differently.
(linking the other thread was a cruel joke......but it does answer this same question in a totally f****d up way )
The stock map is best for a starting point. A "Race Tune" might even give you complications for a street purposed bike.
Maybe you should start a "Gofund my Race tune"
BUEOD is known to be a bit glitchy. I know, I had one
Your best bet is to get ahold of a friendly Harley dealer (oxymoron?) and have then flash the ECU with the latest firmware version (BUE2D). Should be 1/2 hour and $50. Then you can use any ion the BUE2D tunes available.
Yes, the power is very noticeable, and will stop the bike from running lean and hot.
