Rear brake light not working

Obviously it's in the rear brake system. Start there.
Trace it through the wires, make sure rear brake is getting power.
At this point if it's plugged in & you have power? then you need a rear brake pressure switch.
Ps. it's 100% rear brake pressure switch but I want people to figure this stuff out rather than be told. Welcome to buell, that's a common occurrence.

You can get a complete extra rear brake system for about $40 used, in fact I may have one now. Or always eBay & other forum members.

Take a test light to the terminals on the rear brake light switch located at the rear M/C.
One should have power with the key on, the other should have power when you press the pedal down.
No power with the key on? check fuses, and the wire between the switch and the fuse box.
Power at the switch on one terminal, but not on the other terminal when you press the brake pedal? Replace the switch.
Power on one terminal, and on the other terminal when you press the switch, but still no brake light? Check the wire from the brake switch to the rear light.

Yeah I have voltage. Bad switch. U know I forget all this but when I had my firebolt I remember it being on the lift all the time with little bugs here and there. I guess I remembered the good things about it when I decided on another buell!

you have two possibilities: one, bad switch...two, trapped air in the master cylinder...if you did any brake related work on the bike. start simple before spending any $$$, jumping the gun...performing shotgun maintenance will add up to a higher level of stress and $$$ spent. look at the system as a whole, what components are involved...follow the troubleshooting steps and eliminate one thing at a time in finding the root cause.
