I have an 06 city x, and recently put the free spirits modified belt tensioner on because my rear wheel bearing are going bad, Is this common?

yea, some have that problem because of the tension caused by alot hard braking.

the spring tensioner is a good choice to prevent that from happening. [up]

Sorry, yes, the bearings. I've put 6,000 miles on it.
Thanks LeFox. Are there better aftermarket bearings of just oem's?

I havent seen any aftermarkets out there as of yet. I had the orignials in mine with almost 15,000 miles on it with no problems. There was a service bulletin on them a while back. If your bearings had black seals on them, they could be updated by this bulletin to the newer orange seal bearings.

21k miles on my original bearings on my '06 Uly. No problems. I do, however always follow precisely the recommended axle torque spec when I change tires. I'd bet the burned out bearings are more a function of over tightening the axle rather than belt tension.

I knew it, I think some HD/Buell dealerships just dont care enough about their Buell counterpart. The parts desks always treat a guy like he came in with a yamaha; with the I dont know, never heard of that. And I live in wisconsin......Sorry about the blow up.

Yeah he is right BPG because most dealers feel bothered that they even have to carry the Buell products in their HD dealers. Live with the fact that HD bought Buell and it is part of your inventory and get us what we need. Most dealers just blow you off like you did come in on a Jap bike. I am lucky to have Precision HD in RI and Paramount HD in Mass because both have been great about answering any Buell questions.

I know guys, 90% of the dealers that carry Buell out there, dont care about them. I was just saying, give them all a chance... :)
