Red Engine Light

Lastnight I was riding home from class and was pulling out from a turn and gave my bike a quit hit on the throttle to speed up then I noticed my red light turn on for about 4 seconds then turn back off when I slowed down. hasnt come back on since but should I be worried? [confused]

If you have ECM spy and a cable you should be able to go in and check historical data.

Was it stalling or accelerating when the light flicked on? Running fine now? Either way, you need to check for Trouble codes.

Might check oil levels too. If it was the oil light instead of the engine light, you may just be a little low.

Highly likely you saw the oil light by mistake, due to it's red color.

I'd bet oil light too.

If it was red, it was the oil light. Your oil is low and when you accelerated, the oil gat pulled away from the pick up. Whe you deceled, it came back to it. Check your oil and fill it up. I wouldnt drive it much until then.

well I thought it was my oil light as well when I first saw it but I took a second look and saw that it was the engine light.I recognize my oil light everytime I go to start my bike. The bike is running fine now but I havent checked my oil. I will do that today. I will also try to check the trouble codes as well. Thanks everyone
