Looking at getting a 58 Buell XB12 XT Ulysses 10 k miles. I have seen posts put on Facebook of folk selling their bikes due to them breaking down and don’t trust them with long journeys. Is this bull or is there issues with them ? I have a fat boy and put 60k on it with no issues, will the Buell do the same.
Thanks

A 58’, that’s an early one!

Assuming you meant 08’. I’m on my second 08’ and other than bad voltage regulators on each one the only other problem I had was when the previous owner miss-adjusted the clutch cable and broke the clutch cover, but unreliable nope not at all.

There is some house keeping issues like the mounting of the ecu, valve cover leaks as the get older, my latest one had an oil hose that was routed too close to the rear header pipe but for the most part they are gas and ride. I’ve had Hondas the melted the stator plug a couple times, a Yamaha that the ignition box went bad.

But an 08’ with that low of miles, just buy it.

Welcome! Having some idea of how well maintained it was, and any history of problems from the bike's current owner would be helpful.

I just purchased a 2009 XT with about 40K miles on it, but the owner (a professional mechanic and motorcycle guy) was very thorough with maintenance and forthcoming about minor problems, so it was an easy decision.
