Remaping ECM to different years make and modles?

I just want to know if you can remap any ecm to make it work on another make modle and year on XB? So like a 03 XB9S remaped to an 09 Uly. Not sure if it can be done but, I heard of there being talk about it before.

I'm sure the fuel maps would be no problem.

Although it seems like there would be a loss of performance.

Each map is designed specifically for that years setup.

I'm sure someone will come along with a more technical answer.

certain ecm's are adaptable to certain make/model/year bike, a lot of them are interchangeable.

u really wouldn't need a remap only a update to the ecm after u install it on the bike

x-opti prolly had a real close program that would do that with a individual ecm,

Don't chance it, go the Tunerpro route, especially for the '08+ ECMs. - TunerPro How-to. Buelletinboard.com is full of info on this program. Also, Octo offers Tunerpro training: ECM Tuning Sessions

No. AMC pin missing, no crank sensor input, no crank sensor logic, needs camshaft sensor.

Thanks. you guys just wanted to know. I don't need it but I was being asked about it. I wasn't sure if it could be done, from the sounds of it looks like it could be done from 03-07 years to any make and modle of XB. But with custome tuning and a software up gerade to the EM to get to work properly for the Bueall. I think the best way is to tune the ECM you already have on your Buell or to find one the year, make and modle of your bike and tune it and keep your old for a back up. Thanks for your help.

Like you said tune the one you already have. No need to buy another if you copy your EEPROM and fuel maps to your hard drive before you start changing things around then you can always return to the original setup.
