I don't have the service manual with me right now, so I was wondering if there was anything special or anything I Gould know about removing the rear shock on my 9R.
Thanks

At the time I was on my iPhone in my basement working on the bike, and since I'm on crutches I didn't feel like lugging my laptop down there.

aww come on Kyle get dedicated rofl but I know how the crutches thing and stairs go

haha, the stairs suck so bad. they are extremly small and I've almost feel down all 15 or 20 a few times, but not from going down them. I get all the way to the top and open the door and almost fall down them. Kinda scary..

Have you ever turned a wrench before?

Undo the lower nut and bolt and remove the top bolt on the coilover, then remove the entire shock. Obviously you'll need to support the bike's frame to hold it up.

Yup, pretty simple just support the main frame of the bike under the muffler and then unbolt the shock from the bike. You will be able to move the swing arm and tire up and down with your own strength.

Yeah I had to remove my rear shock once when I made some tweaks to the spring and shock internals. Easiest way to do it is just like xtremelow said. Just put a couple 2 x 4's under your muffler or whatever and make sure the thing isnt gonna tip over on ya while its up there.

I need to remove the rear shock on my bike, so i can get to the fan, remove that and than re-bolt the header back to the block. Any suggestions on doing this for my 2004 xb12s?
