I've been scrounging up sets of renthals to replace the twisted OE 'bars but am having repeated problems with them clearing the suspension top adjusters. If anyone has fitted Renthals without problems please could they post up the bar no. (i.e. 722 etc) so I can have a go at tracking some down?

I have Renthal Streetfighters and they work well, plus feel great compared to stock. Some of the cables are about stretched as far as they can safely get, but there's no binding or anything.

I had a pair of rethals when I got my bike and tried to fit them on but unfortunately they wouldn't fit. The bend was too far out and the cables couldn't get around it.

The streetfighters also come with a (removable)crossbar and pad in case that's your style.

I just did the mod yesterday...The setup I used was a 1" riser and fat bar combo from precision engineering and the renthal fat bars themselves were the graphite colored ones that come stock on most of the 450 class dirtbikes. No clearance issues at all with the fork tubes. If you need a picture I can get one just let me know.

Those could be the ones then.[up]

The streetfighter ones are a bit narrower than std, any big changes in riding feel? I take it you can still get to the suspension adjusters with them on? Which of the cables are stretched? The 722's I tried are @800mm overall and the throttle didn't like full left lock.

I just installed the ultra lows without any issues using the stock clamps. Haven't tried them yet due to the damn snow.

J1MMY,

Are your front forks slid up into the triple trees any farther then stock? Sounds like it has been and is your problem. If they are in the stock location, then virtually any bar will fit granted they aren't hitting your tank.

Hey Mike

No, the forks are in what I guess to be standard position (the clip-type stays) are under the top yoke).

I haven't gone for ultra lows as from what I can gather looking at the specs on Renthals site they are a fair bit narrower than the std bars and I like the bars being wide.
