I replaced my belt and now when I slow down, i get a rubbing noise that i start to hear around 25mph. I compared the old belt to the new one and the new one is a slight bit bigger. Is this common for a new belt? should I worry or take everything apart and redo it? Any help would be great.

Thanks

Do you still have the belt guard on? I was getting a similar sound after I had the belt replaced until I took off the guard

Do you have an 03 or is it newer? The 03s had a smaller belt and it is possible that you have the later belt. You need to look into this to make sure. Also is it a OEM belt or is it an aftermarket? THis could be a factor as well if you have a later model.

The new belt is slightly widder and it seems the top belt guard is rubbing against the belt. I will check it out a bit more tomorrow.
