Have reset my AFV to 100% three time this week on my 08 XB12 SCG with stock ECM/Mapping and Drummer Can. All three times it has drifted down past the normal 85-87% I have recorded pretty consistently for the past year down to the MIN allowable of 75%. As I have noted in the past, I live at 5000' MSL and the AFR/02 Calibration will do what it needs to to run lean due to the lower 02 % content at that altitude. It has recently affected the idle when warmed up at times and periodically induced a flat spot around 4800-5200 RPM's.
Will resetting my MIN AFV% to 85% in the CALIBRATION MODE of the 02 SETUP Section of ECMSPY2 from the 75% Factory setting damage anything? The bike runs great when the AFV was consistently in that range regardless the temps.
On a side note, I have had two Trouble Codes this week both with DTC 15 : Intake Air Temperature Sensor Voltage Low with the resulting normally low AFV %.
Could it be possible I have a faulty IAT Sensor which is sending the wrong data to the ECM thus resulting in the inaccurate formula for a correct AFR and creating the periodic fluctuating low to high idle and flat spot issue?
Feedback please.
