riding pants recommendations

Ive been having a hard time finding some good riding pants. I want either textile vented or leather vented. Never really owned any, but the ones I have tried on are baggy and bulky. I want some good pants, with good air flow, but offer protection. Yes i want ones that look cool. my problem is.... wait for it... Im a small guy.. 5'8 129lbs. and id like them to fit slim.

anyone familiar with any brands that have some like this? majority of my gear is icon and they do not have anything like this.

I know exactly what you mean.

Honestly, I gave up... partially cause I commute DAILY, and don't want to buy that many pairs.

I use Alpinestars knee/shin guards under my regular "straight cut" jeans. I don't wear tight pants, so this lets me have the protection, which won't move around much during an accident... and still be comfy.

At 5'7 135lbs.... I wear the kids size. These particular guards come in 2 sizes.... kids and adult. Kids size fit my slim legs, fit inside jeans, and they tuck into the top of my boots... which prevents the guards from being pushed down. I actually wear sidi vortex normal height boots.
These are the guards I use, though theres a TON out here. Usually intended for MX, but the local shops here have started carrying them because they are popular in the sport bike crowd.

nice, I might just look into getting the armor instead of the pants. it seems like its just more what I'm looking for.

Do you ride in the rain & cold? If not, perforated leather is the best protection, fits snug and vents really well. If so, textile will be your best bet; they'll have vented panels which fasten shut and removable thermal lining.

Joe Rocket & Belstaff has a pretty good mid-level selection. Alpinestars & Dainese has some good pricier stuff.

If you want more armor than the pants come with, you can sew in your own or wear crash pants underneath.

Also, don't be afraid to try on some larger ladies sizes if it's a snug fit you want.

I tried women's jackets when trying to get a snug fit... all came up being too short (bend over and lower back was exposed)... the rest of the fit was great :/ . I found alpinestars to have a snug "euro" fit in their jackets. Their Small jacket fit like a scorpion XS (XS is hard to come by in any brand). Anyways, maybe their pants will fit the same body type.

Oh.... one thing I didn't mention about the knee guards.... they KILL the ambient heat from Buell headers. I can feel the header/engine heat when I make a quick run and don't wear the guards. With the guards, yes... it'll get hot. But it doesn't feel like your leg is next to an open oven. They kind of "average out" the temperature. Slower to heat up, slower to cool down. At first, I didn't wear them in summer, just when it was "nice" out and through winter because they blocked the cold wind. Then, the following summer I just never quit wearing them, even in the 100deg Houston heat/humidity. Once off the bike, I just unzip boots partway and push knee guards down so
the knee is below my knee... lets the legs breath a bit.

I've known some skinny jean wearing guys to wear them outside of the jeans... not my look, but looks tough.
