right or left??

So i was out riding today and i got to thinking about what i do when i come up to a intersection. I remember some were hearing that looking to the left first is better bcs that will be the first lane of traffic u will go threw. I notice i tend to look right idk why its just a habit. I was wondering which way u guys tend to look first and if it sounds like a good idea to try and work on my habit and look left first??

I look where Im going last. don't think the prelims are crucial. I usually look for girls first.

I look left last. Since it is closest I want that look to be the last before I pull out. Often I look left/right/left.

baha well we that should be the rule but we cant have everything lol.

Well it def makes since to look left first in theory, idk if it really makes a huge difference or not but im going to work on looking left first.

While were on this topic anyone got any other intersection tips? I all ways like to learn new safe ways to ride.

I find myself tending to look left 1st ten right but I look like 4 times to make sure no damn cagers are hauling ass as I live out in the burbs of the burbs for Toledo so...

I look about 4 times to, then gun it out of the intersection as fast as i can lol. I just got back from a quick cruise around the neighborhood its a nice night. I forced myself to look left. A think a few more rides of doing that any i will start to look left with out thinking about it

I ride very defensively but never really thought of it. Thinking about it I realize I look where I see activity or a potential hazards (cagers).

If you are in the left turn lane, hang back a bit since people tend to cut that corner a lot. [mad]

I look right first as I'm coming to a stop since it's just habit. But once I stop I always look left, right, left at least twice.

always have done left, right, left. even in a car. look left, if clear then right. i don't bother looking right unless left clear first, then back to left right before pulling out. 60 mph is about 80 ft per second so a lot can change in a little bit of time.
