Right side air scoop questions....

Ok, so I have seen that this issue has been touched several times, but I am still curious. I have an 04' XB12R and would like to add a right side scoop. Does the Uly comfort kit fit? When I look the actual kit up, it says it only fits like 06' and later. I am currently deployed to afghanistan so I dont have the luxury of just going to a dealer and inquire, and I would like to have the part at home waiting for me when I get there. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I think, and someone else chime in on this one if I'm not accurate, that the reason it is listed like that is because of the header shields included in the comfort kit. If you only order the RSS from ASB or somewhere like that, I believe they work for all the XBs.

I am actually at a combat outpost, no cafe here brother! Using the NIPR computer while I am Sergeant of the Guard!!! Cant wait to get home and ride it, the wife (who is also in the army) bought it for me! Going to be hard to choose which one to ride first, I have 4 scoots now!!!

Plus 3 screws you can get from any hardware store for pennies, or pay $5 for the "genuine Buell part!"

If you get the same outcome as I have from the RSS, you won't be hearing the fan very often. Totally worth the investment.

One of the best upgrades I've done - I have not heard my fans come on yet since I have done it - I run the carbon fiber matching left and right pair.

Got mine from ASB also,same low price as stated above,keeps my fan from coming on unless it is really hot weather and then only if I ride a good deal.

soldier: if you haven't sprung for the right side setup already, i have the 3 H-D part #'s you would need for outer scoop, inner adapter, 3 screws. total at any H-D dealer in the US is about $58 for everything. IMO it is the single best thing you can do for any XB. gets cool air to the rear cylinder in prodigious amounts, makes riding more comfortable, cycles fan much less..the best thing you can do for your XBR.

hey allday: here's the info and procedure you will need for right side scoop. takes about 3 minutes to install. remove stock right side mini scoop and save the 3 mounting screws. when you get your new parts just install...very straight-forward and you're good to go. you will reuse a few of the old screws that held the OEM mini scoop to your bike. here's the part #'s for mother H-D. hope that helps.

AN1005.3FSS-attaching screws-you will need 3
M0851.711-scoop, air inner right-need 1
M0852.7AA-scoop, air outer right-need 1

total for all retail with H-D is $51.90
