Hey everyone... i was just recently deployed to Iraq, and while i was out there i bought my 09 Xb12Scg and had it waitin for me when i got back. As far as rotating the bike using its kickstand, does anyone know if the xb models have a strong enough kickstand to do this type of thing, or will it be best to just back it out everytime i park? Thanx

not sure i'm following. you mean could you use the kickstand as a pivot, and physically turn the bike 180 degrees to face another direction?
Not only does that sound like you could drop the bike at any moment, the kickstand is not strong enough to do that.
Mine broke when someone bumped into my bike.

yea, i know a lot of people who do that on their gsxr's, but didn't know if it would work with the xb's... didn't wanna end up trying, and breaking the kickstand, so wanted to see if anyone has tried or knows...

I do it with my R1 all the time. I just started to with the Buell... its a little odd only because I'm used to the balance of the R1 but it can be done.

I personally wouldn't chance it with my bike, but it is YOUR bike. The chance being taken by doing this just doesn't seem worth the risk.

The XB I designed as a whole to be very strong but individually it is very weak. Take a look at your kick stand and notice like the rest of the bike it is weakly mounted to the motor.

Definite No on this one, like the rest have said.

hold front brake, get on the throttle and do half a donut!
your bike is turned and you look cool doing it :p

nah, i would recommend not to do it.
if you do, keep a spare bolt in your pocket ;)

another option is to park your back backwards to you don't need to turn around ;)

Batman had a turntable in the Batcave that allowed the Batmobile to be spun around facing outward. I do not know how much it cost but it was cool.......

ya i wouldnt recomend doing that either, thats how i broke mine, it actually cracked the weld where the bolt goes threw and the kick stand its self started to bend.

ok. thanx guys...doesn't look like i'll be using my kickstand to turn the bike around... BUT...i will be looking into that cool batcave spin thing... lol good call baddad...lol

You know how when Chuck Norris is doing a push up, he doesn't lift himself up, he pushes the earth down. I'm sure its the same thing when he's turning his bike around, he doesn't actually touch his bike at all, he just turns the world around. :D

another good point... i'll have to get up wit Mr. Chuck... i'm sure batman is a busy man, but chuck is probly livin off retirement right about now...

I made a little platform that I roll the back wheel onto. It has little caster wheels so it can roll in all directions. I roll the bike on, put it in gear so it wont roll back off and you can spin it any way you want. Dont use your kickstand like a squid.
