Hi folk's, tried to locate info to no avail... Trying to find info surrounding the rubber band(drive belt - XB12S) What I'm looking for is generic belt brand's/part number's...example Gates/Dayco, etc. What I have noticed out of the image's I've spotted, the factory belt's, detail's(printed) seem to be in the same style as Gates rubber band's/belts I've fitted over the year's...
Anyway if someone could direct me to info surrounding the belt, the info I have from a local HD dealer is,
P/N: G0500.1AKF(135T)
I am a bit spooked by what I've read concerning breakage's...the old machine's belt is original, just over 43,000km's. A mate spotted slight crack's appearing on the inside, upon closer inspection noticied cracking on the outside....so time to replace.....
Anyway, thank's Gav

'Rubber Band Drive'

Gav: Click link...scroll my name...all the XB drive belt info you need. The thread gives you all XB belt specs. With those specs you can check Harley Davidson part # along with Gates and BDL who still supply Buell drive belts in various sizes.

Hi Barrett, thank's for the info/link. I was kind'a hoping on part number's for the 'Gate's Belt', and the 'Dayco Belt' and 'other's' if known? As stated I'm sure the HD/Buell belt's are manufactured by a 3rd party, like Gate's or Dayco?
Brand/Part number's would be greatful! Or URL addresses? I think I might have to phone the local rep, for the companies concerned. Thank's, Gav

From an old Harley Davidson computer print-out dated 2006 model years...see if this helps you:

ALL S-SERIES LIGHTNING 9/12 MODELS EXCLUDING INTRODUCTORY 2003-ONLY 9 MODEL--EXCLUDING "LONG" MODEL

HARLEY DAVIDSON G0500.1AAH
:
FALCON BDL SPC------ PART #-SPC-128-118

DAYCO PANTHER RDB----- PART #-43-9085

GATES POLYCHAIN RDB----PART # 43-9014

And for what it's worth that Harley Davidson part # you listed above ending in 1AKF is incorrect for your Lightning model. The # you listed is for all XB12 LONG MODELS. Not the standard Lightning.

You're quite welcome.

 Hi, thank's for the response! Sorry for the confusion....the bike is a 'XB12SS - Lightening Long 2007', maybe pronounced the other way around, long lightening?
Anyway according to the local HD shop the difference is the length of the belt.(swing arm length I guess) Mine is a '135 tooth', the length of the belt. So I hope I have cleared the murky water's? Please update me on part number/s of manufacturer's?
Thank's, Gav
