#1) Will a upgrade shock from a 1999 fit a 1997 S1? I looked at the parts books for both and the shocks are different and of course the swing arms are different but some of the parts are the same part number and it looks like it COULD work,

#2) would the 1999 factory upgrade shock fit a 2001 S3T?

#3) I see on some forums (BWB) some people say NO,, but it LOOKS like it could,,,,,, a factory race exhaust on a 2001 S3T would it fit a 1999 frame? what about a 1997 frame? Some say the tubes go over and some go under but it sure looks like they would fit,

#4) Will the PM wheels from an 2001 S3T fit a 1997 S1? The front wheel on a 1997 uses a speedo drive and of course most later ones did not use a speedo drive there,,,, but looking at the parts books, the wheels have the same part numbers and many of the spacers are the same,

Anyone know??? any input greatly appreciated,,,, im trying to figure out what projects im building and keeping and what im not. Serial bike hoarder.
#5) I have a insurance totaled 2001 S3T project with low miles and trying to figure out its future, I dont like the S3T body work style, but was debating building a Buell version fo a Harley XR750 Race bike,, Orange and black, street tracker style resembling the factory sporty racer,

All the shocks and interchangeable as long as you use the correct front mount.

The headers and not interchangeable. The frames are different and the '96-'98 outlet points down and to the left, and the '99-;02 point straight back.

Wheels are a direct swap.

I'd like to have that S3T in my shop. I going to get serious about looking for one this winter. I missed a few really good deals because I couldn't make up my mind.

Winter is coming or already here depending on your location, Bikes get cheap right around Christmas and ESPECIALLY right after new years,,,, I missed a lightly wrecked XB9 last year for $800 There was a tuber,,1999 or 2000 locally on CL recently for $1400??? or so,,, allegedly a runner and needed little or no work,, A friend was mulling it over, I told him you better get to be a Johnny on the spot for that deal, quit screwing around. Theres a lot of people around here that love to part out bikes and im sure it went to the ebay wheeler dealers to be pieced out one by one, Was a shame, theres deals out there. I seem to run into them and need to stop buying projects when i have too many already. I couldnt say no to the S3T, Too good of a deal. I got it from some weird insurance deal where these guys are buying up bikes from insurance companys that in most cases are lightly wrecked but otherwise in great conditon. The above pix is how i got it, low mileage and super good shape, and the price was right. Couldnt say no. Appreciate the response..

Great idea, been thinking about a cafe/tracker for a while too.
Hey, I'd be interested in the tail fairing around the seat if you decide not to use it.

No, i dont plan to use any of the stock body work on that S3, PM me for contact info if still interested. I love the BOTT1 bikes too,, so tempting,

I think the spoked wheels really work on that style of bike.
Alpina used to make them for tubers, but they told me they stopped and won't do special orders either.
Anybody do this with HD spoked wheels, or any other make?
