I'm checking on a lead about a '97 S1 and was wondering if there is any little odd bits I should be aware of.

Rear isolators can be bad. About $60.00 for parts but a real PITA to change out. Look for leaking shock, hard to find good used ones and aftermarket ones start at $700.00.

Yeah, rear isolators are a PITA to change. Lot's of stuff is becoming obsolete so you should be buying a bike in great shape. Body parts, decals, air cleaner stuff, tanks, fenders that sort of stuff isn't available anymore. Great bikes

Id say mostly check for engine problems like oil leaks and running bad, smoking etc. If it checks out on test ride, snatch it up if price is right [up]
