Hello fellow Bueller's,

Does anyone know how to buff out, or fix scratches on the plastic on our bikes? I have a couple of them on my air-box cover and the exhaust belly pan cover.

Thanks in advance for the advice.:)

A coworker just used our head light resto. kit on his tail light assembly for his car... It had a 2 foot black plastic section in the center.. It came out amazing... Smooth as glass, with out a single blemish (looked VERY bad before he started) Im doing my plastics soon and I'll post b4 and after pics..

I've used the 'Plastic Renew' kits that are sold mostly for dirt bike plastics but that might work for you as well...

Mothers scratch x. Works great. Them i spray a microfiber towel with black magic plastic protectant and wipe down every bit of plastic and it looks like glass. Just dont get the black magic on the seat. Very slick stuff

I assume all these products are American as I've never heard of them :). Anyone able to recommend a product available in the UK? Need to do my airbox and rear cowl.

Thanks guys.

I'll give it a shot. Some of the scratches are deep, so I'll try some fine grit sand paper on it first.

actually the platics on the buells are colored platic that i basicly just buffed. b4 i painted my bike i wet sanded and buffed my buell. i used 1000-2000 grit and to finih off fine buffing compound. (you can sand all day in one spot and not go thru any type of paint/clear)

I have found the H-D stuff (#94655-98 Scratch & Swirl Treatment and #99701-84 Harley Glaze and Poish) orks fine. I rarely even need the Scratch and Swirl, the Galze & Polish is good enuf to take out most minor scratches. If you rub long enuf and hard enuf even deep scratches will come out. If you do use the Scratch & Swirl it will need followed up with the Polish. Have 2 Buells and I am still on my first bottle of Scratch & Swirl bought over 9 years ago.
