Just emailed him about the documentation on this "SPECIAL" x1 and how I would love to add it to my collection of rare bikes if it is really what he says. :D

Their would have been a lot of machine work go into a Merlin 1 to make it a 1340.

I have seen one of these or this bike on ebay before and asked my brother (who is a engineer for HD) if they ever did make such thing. He said no never heard of one. He said that during the X1 years Buell was really struggling and did think they would have spent the dough to modify the Merlin 1 cases. Not to say they didnt though. Neat bike!

I've followed most of the tube frame models I don't recall ever seeing anything about a special x-1 besides the Millennium ones. Someone should ask Erik if anyone would know he would.

Still swaping emails with this guy. At 1st he said he would give me the VIN to run and now (this morning ) he had me go to some dealers web page in Las Veagas (1 stop motors)that "HAD" one listed for $17,500. I f you wanna see some stupidly high prices on used buells give them a look......one was listed at $10,000 with 7k plus on the odometer.

I emaild Erik and his awnser was short and to the point............"There never was a special run of 100 Screamin Eagle X1's."

This guy is not too happy right now.........

Saw this one on ebay a few months ago and smelled ******** from the get go. No one else I ever talked to had heard of this model either.

Somewhat in the sellers un-informed defense...

Some of these did come with the heads casted with Screaming Eagle, instead of Thunderstorm

I could understand being misled by a casting on a part, but what about the rest of the story.......... I know the guy bought it second hand and may have been misled from the previous owner, but if someone fed me a story like that I would expect some documentation & would have checked the vin at least once during the ownership of the bike. I mean come on.....to own 1 of 100 specially made bikes of which only 30 made it to the public and only 19 of those 30 still exsist.......If the god of Buell's himself Erik says it didnt happen.........Im inclined to beleive him. Think about this... the Millennium Edition had documentation engraved right into the fuel cap stating what it was & what # it was of the 800 that where produced.........this guy has nothing.

The rest of the story is either him being cocky in his sale or overly proud of his bike... when you buy something thinking its a screaming eagle version and x of 100... you have pride in that... then you keep telling yourself that over the next 3 years... your going to start believing that and only that.

or he could just be trying to cover up his lie.

Either way what does it matter? It doesnt exist but its still a cool bike. Who cares.

I know I shouldent care, but it just irks me to no end when someone trys to pass somthing off that its not and dosent even care about the poor sap that may buy it........especially at the cost of $15,500.

Well the poor sap who buys it, deserves it for not researching it better.

In case your wondering I also have no sympathy for people who wrap around telephone poles when they are drunk.
