It seems that the XB9SX seat is the thickest stock seat, and that it would fit right on my XB12Scg. Is that true? If so (and I think it is), how much does that affect long term comfort? I'm not worried about seat height really (two bikes ago I rode a DRZ400s with a 37" seat height). I'm looking for a seat that will allow me to ride more miles than the ultra thin Scg seat. I'll keep the Scg seat too. Looks like I can buy the XB9SX seat for about $80, so not a major investment....just want to know that it's worth it.

Let me know and thanks guys,

Warner

it will

how much does that affect long term comfort

no idea. depends on your sleeve length and inseam.

I ride my scg with a standard seat. Getting older. Need the extra stretch while riding

Yes, I did it and I really like the position and feel, would recommend. I am 5' 11".

Here it is .

Get the Standard XB Seat, you will not regret it.

I use the SCG Low Seat around town because it looks cooler, in my opinion.

Any rides over an hour I switch out to the XB Standard Seat.

It does not keep you locked into a single spot on the seat and allows you to slide forward / back to change up your riding positions.
(Plus the extra seat height helps keep your nuts from roasting, as much, from the rear exhaust header temperature.)

Saves your legs from cramping up. I've ridden full tanks of fuel down to reserve before getting off the bike to stretch and refuel.

Then gas and go, over and over, for 12 hours of riding.

I think these are the part numbers. ( Someone can check me on this. )

M0090.1AJ --- Tallest Seat with a leather like appearance. ( This is what I prefer. So I can move around on the bike more to change position. )
N0025.1AJYW --- Tallest Seat with a grippy texture. ( Does not let you slide around. )
M0090.1AC --- Middle Seat with a grippy texture.
M0076.1AD --- Low Seat with a leather like appearance.
M0076.3AE --- Low Seat with a grippy texture.
