So I sold my first 2008 1125r last year and completely regretted it.

Ended up buying another one last weekend with about 7300 miles. Yesterday was the first time I really got on it and I feel like the bike under load at low RPM and low speeds really lacks power (around 3k RPM). Once I get up to a higher RPM it feels right.

So, as soon as I got back to the garage I started to tear it down:

First, Cleaned and Oiled the K&N Filter.
Second, Changed the plugs... (The NGK plugs came preset with a .032 gap. Is it a huge deal if I don't open them up to .035?, Didn't have a wire tool, but I'll get back in there if need be.)
Third, Checked all the vacuum hoses and breathers to make sure they were connected.
Fourth, Checked battery connection, I'll be cleaning the terminals tonight before I go for a test run.

I started it up and the idle was strong at about 1300-1500 RPM. Actually felt a little high but whatever. With no codes, i plan on taking her out tonight like I said for a test run.

I'm afraid this could be an issue with the Stator, is there anything else I should try before going to the dealership?

All stock I assume? Hp/torque ranges anywhere from 115 to 130+ and 65-75 ft/lbs. Just depends on the dyno/operator/time/temp, etc. Some motors were a little weaker than others, it happens. A race ecm will help some for low end power. The right pipe matched to that ecm and it will pull like a freight train from pretty much anywhere in the rpm range, ie; start at 75+ ft/lbs and go up to 90 ft/lbs, possibly making 140+ hp at the wheel.

Yes, all stock.

Maybe I should have been more clear, It feels like a responsiveness issue not necessary power.

It's almost a safety concern at this point because of the drag... Inherently I want to power through and then the damn thing just really takes off on me.

On a previous bike, an xb12r, i had a similar experience (although it was way worse) when the breather hose to the gas tank came loose. I confirmed this was not the issue with the 1125R however.

Might also be worth mentioning that it had a code: P0506 (low or high idle) although it hasn't thrown it up since I've owned it.

Was the solenoid removed on your last bike? Is it removed on this bike? If you say it is something to do with response that my be it.

No mods on either bike, the stator went out on it thou and it was replaced under warr. before I owned it.

I definitely felt an improvement after taking mine off, and it wasn't even connected. The plug wasn't, I mean, it was still hooked up to the throttle and it felt better after taking it off. Still not as light as I'd like it though....

... Looks like I have a project for the weekend.

I'll let you know how it feels after.

Thanks!
