So, took my bike up to show my aunt and her hubby yesterday. And they keep telling me that parts and service for my bike is going to be just like harleys $$$$$$$ Compared to jap bikes. I know i took it hard out of the gate with a $300 1k mile service. Just wondering from some of the long buellers if you guys would agree. Not that it will make me take my bike back. Love this wheelee machine. '08 Firebolt XB12R

parts are not that expensive, especially not on u.s. side.
service is in between, but your don't have the added chain & sprocket change.

I go to an independent shop that services BUELLs. Actually I lucked out, because the service manager owns an XBs and an XBr. Anyways, so far I have compared them to Orlando Harley Davidson (which is the closest dealer to me) and have been ALWAYS 40% cheaper than the dealer. Service prices at the Harley Store aren't too bad but the independent place is great. My suggestion is call around and see if an independent place near you works on them. However most on here always suggest getting a Service Manual and do it your self! I don't have the time, personally. I'm sure you'll be fine. Good luck and tear the road up![up]

Is that the Seminole Buell stand alone shop in Fern Park?

nope, Motorcycle Clinic in Kissimmee.. Though, I have gone to the Buell store out there and those are great guys[up][up] Just too far for me to go to!

As long as you can do your own oil changes and can change a spark plug, don't sweat it. You won't even need the dealership for anything other than warranty work. Not necessarily a bad idea to bite the bullet on the 1k and 5k as they do (are suppose to anyway) check for other potential problems and it may help cover your butt if you have major eng/trans problems later but otherwise get a service manual and turn your own wrenches.
