Shift shaft sizes. Anyone have a measurement?

I'm looking for the measurement of the shift shaft at the seal. My 8/05 build date has the primary cover 25543-02 and a shift shaft diameter of 0.55in. Anyone know what the measurement is on 03-05 and 06 & up? I need to order a cover ASAP. Thanks again!
