I have some shock questions. I have an 09 XB12Ss that I would like to lower. I know the forum has a bunch of threads on this but it appears that some of the information is not accurate. From what I have seen searching the web is that the SS and the S/R shock is the same length only the mounting locations on the frame and swing arm are different. So putting an S/R shock on my Ss would do nothing but have a different spring rate on the spring. SO if I put an Scg shock on an Ss I believe it should sit at the same height as a standard S, correct? Also it appears that my tubes that are mounted in my triple trees are the same light as a standard S and the only difference is that I have about 1.25 inches more of the fork shaft showing than a standard S. So what is different inside the forks between an Ss and an S? And no I do not want to just replace the forks because of all the other issues this causes. Thanks for any input.
