Was riding today and hit a goddamn pothole on these NYC streets. Felt something hit my right foot and got scared so i pulled over and couldn't see anything missing. Rode a bit longer and the bike just felt different. When i got home and inspected the front again this is what i find:

The left side bolt snapped and half is stuck inside. I believe that's what happened today. But what about that other side where the whole piece that the bolt threads into is missing???

man... that really stinks.
I think I would try and have it welded then drill and tap the only other option I see is a new front cylinder

Yeah man, a metal shop would be the best quality and cheapest fix. No biggie really.

your gonna have to drop the engine out though. you could probley find a used head also and swap it out fairly cheap

Very quickly file a complaint with the city. Identify the pothole and the damage. A lot of municipalities will pay for the repair. You have to do your homework.
