I haven't been riding much lately, too much work, travel. Last ride my 05 9sx started more than usual decal popping, also when cruising at 80 mph (4500 rpm) runs normal but if I go WOT it sounds like its cutting out, at low speeds its not doing this. I figure spark plugs, but thought I would ask.

Cleaning or replacing the plugs certainly won't hurt, especially if it's been sitting.

Decel popping is a sign of a lean mixture, or a leak in the exhaust. If you are running highway speeds go WOT, the bike is using as much fuel and as much spark energy as it can. Sounds like something isn't up to the task.

You could have a fuel pump on the way out, clogged line, injectors, or filter. Try is cheap fix with Seafoam or other injector cleaner. Check the fuel pressure.

You could have a weak coil or plug wire.

Do you have any diagnostic tools at all?

Check your plug wire(s). I had one that was shorting out, especially when I rode in the rain.

Maybe a weak ground?
