My speedometer cuts out every once in a while. I noticed it again today in second gear it doesn't go blank just reads zero then goes back to speed. It doesn't throw any codes. the bike has 2200 miles on it . Ran it by a bike shop and they said that it's probably just some shavings landing on the sensor. was wondering if any one else has seen this before?

Try unplugging dash plug it back in to rule that out, and check your grounds to be safe. That's where I would start!

Ive read about this sensor coming unpluged, it is on the right side of the bike behind the plastic cover that is just behind the dipstick. The sensor lead has a silver convuluted tubing covering it. That connection would be my starting point

I checked all the connections and everything seems fine. I will be taking the bike to my local harley dealer in a couple of weeks to get the security code reset so I will see if it pulls any codes when they hook it up to their computer. I checked the system error codes on the IC and nothing is coming up so I'm not going to worry about it.

Was really common for a while. Had mine done under wty.

Mine did this about a month ago, it was the speed sensor! It's an XB though...
