Stator harness terminal release tool?

In the service manual is says to:

Remove the wire terminals from the socket housing and tape a length of mechanics wire to the leads.

What tool did you all use, and where might I be able to find one on short notice? I was planning to remove the stator tomorrow so it can be sent to Rick's. I thought I had all the odd bits and pieces lined up, but apparently not.

A very small flat head screwdriver, like a jewelers driver, will raise the tangs in the connector housing to release the terminals.
