stator problem

Has anyone elese had to replace the stator in there bikes?

Not yet but i did have to have a voltage regulator.
Considering sending it to have it custom rewound before it fails

I have had just one so far. 4500 miles and the dealer had my bike for about a month. Hopefully thats the last one I ever need, but like RT if I have another one go out I will have it rewound.[up]

I replaced the stator in my old xb9R around 27K miles...

Yep, had to have the stator replaced under warranty on my '09 Ss at about 8-9k miles.

All you have to do is read an 1125 message board.
I replaced mine at just under 15,000 miles.

If you have an 09..be ready..!

I put only 14,527miles on mine and it fried. Extended mine out 3/4 of an inch hope the heat won't fry it maybe so Quickly. We will see in time.

Had to replace mine at about 5,000 miles a few months ago.

Well just got done talking to the shop and they told me when the stator went it fried the hole wirring harness so i have to get all of it replaced. thank god it's still under warranty. Thanks for all the comments.

The harley shop said that they had about five bikes in last week for the same thing and most of them had around 4 to 5000 miles on the bike
