In my old days of going to the boulevard and haulin some ass for fun, or funds, with a few hundred other folks, we used to get our hands on police band scanners from 'a friend' or get the parts and make our own. Knowing where the traps and blocks were saved many a speeding ticket, let alone a trip to the Justice Center. Well, times have changed and you cant just get the equipment very easily anymore (in NY, they get real grumpy if you have one), if at all...
