I've got a newbie question. Basically the throttle on my 0412r will stick at any position.

Is there any type of lubricator that is recomended?
[confused]

You tried tracing it to see if it's getting pinched or held somewhere?

Buell Service manual says to pull the cable off & spray in "non-flammable" cleaning solution, then use air to blow it out. You can download the whole manual at the link @ the top of the page if you don't already have one.

Oh, and welcome to the Forum.

chances are your cable is pinched/in a bind somewhere. trace it down then do the service like stevenc150 said.

There might be dirt in between your grip/throttle tube and the handlebar also. Take the grip off and clean/inspect it.

It might be out of adjustment. the two cables coming out the the throttle housing may have backed out. Loosen the jam nuts and turn them in until the throttle no longer sticks. Mine backed off once and caused some problems.

Folks, thanks for all the help.

i think i found the problem, but first let me shout out a disclaimer real quick. If my "terminology" is off, i apologize...please bare with.

I took the brake housing and throttle housing apart according to the manual and had both the idle cable and throttle cable completely exposed.

Everything looking ok, so i wiped everything down and put half the housing on; containing the idle cable and then pull on the throttle cable....Everything seems smooth and definently had enough pull in my mind to pull the throttle back.

So far so good. So whats the problem right? inside the throttle housing, the throttle is rubbing something fierce againt throttle housing. The only thing i can think of to reduce this rub (stickyness) is apply lube.

Any suggestions?

Problem solved. i but a little graphite lube in the housing, pull here...pull there....and voala! Works great.

I wish I could tell you hold up, but i honestly havn't a clue. Thanks for all the help. [up]
