Hey guys, I took my bike to this mechanic who says he has a friend who works for Erik Buell Racing. He told me that his friend would take my stock ECM and remap it to my FMF exhaust, and it would be cheaper than buying a new ECM. I have never heard of EBR remapping the stock ECM. So my question is can they even do that? Thanks.

I would be very concerned as there are only a handful of people that work for EBR.

Yea and I also have never heard of them remapping the stock ECM at all, or if that is even possible. Does anyone know if they do remap the stock ECM?

Yea I am going to give him a call tomorrow and see what's up, it has been about a month and a half. He claims that what is taking so long is that they are busy getting the 1190 all set up for this years production standards.

Sure it's possible.

I just did some remapping myself last night to my CR.
I installed a Barker exhaust over the holidays (removed an HMF). It takes a bit of changed fuel maps to get it to run well with the system change.

I'm currently doing small areas at a time so I don't get "lost" in the changing.
My first two changes were fairly large, but the closer I get to running well...those changes get smaller and smaller in cell quantity changes.

BUT...despite the experts, many things need to be known about the circumstances that the bike will be running in.
Just saying "one" set of maps will work for a given exhaust...is not getting all they "could" get.
A good tuneup with a good dyno operator and or Exhaust Gas Analyzer help IS required...to be..as they say...Be All You Can Be!
