Hey guys here is whats up. My dad got a 'new' wheel from buellster parts and it is a legit wheel says buell on it and all looked like it came in a OEM box. Get it to the shop put the tire on and throw it on the bike and WTF???? it is no where near the right color. Before anyone asks the rear is stock orange, and we even took the bike outside and got it in sunlight and it looks just like the pic. My dad is not to worried right now he just wants to get the bike finished and inspected to get it back on the road but when you pay for a new wheel it should be the same damn color. Now we need to find someone to powdercoat it later on, rant over..

Yeah wow that looks no where close! Bike looks clean though. Haven't seen a race exhaust in that good of shape in a long time. [up] to your dad!

Have you spoken with the supplier? Maybe they can inspect their inventory and see if they have one that matches your rear wheel.

No we have not spoke to anyone yet, hes not really mad but kinda bummed. Idk what he really wants to do besides get the bike complete. Yea thats a 2004 with 8k on the clock and it was from VA. Hit the pipe with a little polish and it looked almost new. My dad really didnt know how lucky he was to have that set up till i informed him how everyone in the world wants that pipe.

Well, that's a thought, last resort - you could sell your gold rear wheel and get another "yellow" wheel for the rear....just kidding

My dad is leaning on just getting them coated black. Just need to locate a powdercoater near us here in NY. I would like that due to the fact i run the gold wheels also!

most poeple do powdercoat on simple wheels liek the buell wheel for $100. just pull your bearings out

the amber is such a pain in the ass to match, i would just consider going for a simpler color. or buying two new wheels at the same time to match.

a guy i know just bought a three bearing 2010 wheel from asb in designer black, got it on his bike and it wasn't even the same black as his front.

conclusion = mixing and matching wheels gets tough

grand stand designs does all sorts of coatings (powder coat, high temp ceramic, etc). he races a few buells, and will take your bearings out and put new bearings in, the correct way i might add. i haven't had him do any wheels, but he quoted me $100 for a nice pile of tidbit parts that we took off my dads bike.

so you could maybe give him a shot as well

also, on another note, i consistently hear bad stories about poeple using buellsterparts. people always getting incorrect parts, and then have a difficult time getting in touch with anyone. sorry to give the company negative feedback, just know that i have heard from a handful of people, that it ended up being a hassle

hope this helps

o wow, i missed the part that youre in new york, he's in JERSEY so you should defenitly give him a shout!

Why not send it back for an exchange? that looks like an "enkei" factory blem.. totally the wrong hue! also, might want to ask your dad if he would find the drop pegs a little more comfy..

I installed the 2inch drop pegs on my xb12s alot more comfortable and helped with longer ride knee pain. I am 57 and was looking at my Buell the same way last week.

That's not my dad in the background, but that man owns a 08 firebolt :) also my dad does have the drop pegs but the ones that are currently on the bike are ones he made and wants to try out. I will have to give grandstand a shout for sure!
