first time poster but been on the site for some time... so here is my problem... last night my buddy and i rode to CT about hour and a half ride... and right before we got to his girls house my bike studders like crazy then stalled out... started back up and ran fine the next 20 miles or so... when we started to get back to the highway it started to hesitate again... over the next 70 miles or so i came to realize the following symptoms... 1)when i hit bumps or used anything more than featherlight throttle it would wanna choke out...2)the speedo would flutter about 5 mph before it would start to act up and 3)if i stopped for just 2 minutes it would be ok for about 5 minutes and then act up here and there... it seemed to be happiest on smooth roads doing about 60-65 with almost no throttle, but once i gave it some gas studder studder pop pop dead!!! but the studder and backfires were not only shooting fireballs from the muffler but was pretty violent before it would shut off... so this morning i checked all the grounds and plug wires ect... im thinking its the coil from what i have read... just looking for some more feedback... bike is a 2003 xb9 lightning with the following mods : Open air box w/ K&N, breather mod, Buell Race ECM, Hawk Muffler, and bunch of other non performance mods... 7100 miles on the clock... oil recently changed and have been through 2 tanks of gas.. still doing it on a side note... when i installed my HID kit... i found after doing the both lights on mod when switching to high beams every once in a while i would studder quick.. im guessing the lights drawing power for a split second... and that quick studder is the same studder but much worse i am experiencing now... this is why i feel it is spark related... thanks for your help!
