Has anyone ever messed with their suspension? My brother and i Fiddled with it but it seems to always having be adjusted one way or another. Can anyone tell me what does the knob on the bottom of the front forks do? Thanks.

Why mess around?

The weight selection is in the manual. It's in the service manual, link at top of page.

Go for your weight, probably go softer.

if you guys are riding with a passenger do you ever mess with the suspension?....

I crank up the rear when my girls is back there forsure..

I have (in the past) felt like I always needed to adjust it one way or another.. Finally got a good feel for it over years of riding. Just takes time, practice and tinkering.. The best way for me is to find a crappy highway with alot of entrance/ exit ramps. The front end shouldnt bounce too much after hitting a good sized crack in the road yet shouldn't stutter too much either.

Another trick Is when the bike is sitting still, push down on the handle bars HARD and the rebound should come back "smoothly".. Not too fast, not too slow...

There was a really good write up on here where a guy used zip ties butted up on the bottom of the for tube, rode then you can see how much movement was in the suspension but I haven't been able to find it in a while.

Sorry to ramble a bit, best advise is set it to stock the do minor adjustments to YOUR FEEL..

Stop what you are doing! Look in the manual for the settings that are best for your weight. Buell suspension setting and much different from other bikes and they are VERY sensitive and if you do it wrong you will be tossed on your head. Open the book. Read the book.
