Been talking to some guys i meet while riding and got talking about suspension set ups using tie wraps around the forks to judge travel distance then correct accordingly.
Didn't get in to it too much but anyone out there done this kind of test and made corrections...if so, how did it turn out and any tips on how to do it.
Cheers
Justin

just put a tie-wrap on the inner leg and make some good hard stops, bumpy roads, etc.

the tie-wrap should be about 10cm from the end. why? cause with a hard stop on a bumpy road, the fork does not have the time completely recover and thus needs some room so it can absorb shock after shock.
if you go lower, your suspension is set to soft and you need to adjust it (see manual).

Hi LeFox
When you say 10cm from the end, which end do you mean? The bottom end by the wheel or the bottom end of the upper fork above the tie wrap.

the end at the wheel, since the lower end (inner) fork slides up into the upper side.

you need that 10cm so you never get to the end of the stroke.
which would result in metal on metal = like riding with no suspension.
