I for one feel the same as most about riding gear,Better to keep your skin than lose it.Last night meet parents of my 15yr old friend for first time, they were on road trip saw a guy on sport-bike no shirt,no helmet,in shorts. My son called him a squid they ask what that was.My son replied (YOU DRESS FOR THE CRASH NOT THE RIDE)made me proud!Glad to see that he feels squids are uncool.

Know the feeling, my boys want to know why i'm not wearing my gear if i'm just sitting on the bike rolling it out in the driveway. We have a routine, they bring my gear to me and watch me put it on before I roll out. My boys love calling out squids on the road. [up]

Twice, I have lost two weeks of work from roller blade crashes. That's with the roller blade gear on. However, I still touched down a couple of times.

If a roller blade wipeout can do, I don't want to imagine a bike.

Both my bike crashes - no skin was damaged.
