Can somebody tell me (I saw it in a thread once but cannot find it for anything!) the size/type of bulb that goes in that little slot between the headlights? I just upgraded my headlight bulbs after running the dual light mod (awesome). Just thought I might throw a neat colored bulb it he center while I am at it.

Thanks!

Jason

If its the parking bulb he's talking about, its a peanut bulb. ( Sorry I can't remember the proper name )

i just that little bulb in when I bought my HID kit. I cant remember what size it is but I know it is the same size as the light bulbs for the overhead lighting in my car. Ill try to find the size of it!

Yeah, it's that little parking bulb. If someone knows the bulb type? I think it is like a little 5w but not sure of the type.

Thanks!

its a 5w wedge parker bulb, a white LED looks heaps better

If ya get a LED just make sure ya put in the right way as they run on negative polarity, if doesnt work when ya put it in take it out and turn it around and should work.

Is there a purpose to this light other than looks?

And does it come in the bike or is the socket just there and sitting empty. My GF's is empty just wondered.

Pics???????

In my opinion the light really does nothing. I think in Europe buells come with the light in but not in the US. I currently have a light in and it doesn't do anything really because its such a small light and my HID overpowers it. It's just a parking light so I wouldn't worry about it. Only reason I have mine in is because my HID kit came with the parking light so I threw it on!!

yea, I tried the LED in my headlights... Didn't look good. But, I was using a LED that was directional, it just pointed forward. My buddies 1125R looks great with the LEDs because they actually are visible from the outside. A normal 195 buld or whatever it is looks great in that little socket because its a WIDE light pattern, filling in both headlight housings.

Here is my post about my headlight mods

dave_xb12r and I discovered that the '09 year model came with this light from the factory. It's function is a "parking light". When you turn your key PAST the "lock" position, your tail light and this bulb come on, also the blinkers will work, without turning on anything else. Also, on the '09 year, the gauge cluster doesn't turn on, '08 and earlier, the gauge cluster does turn on in parking mode.

Because of this "parking light", that is why I installed a relay to keep my low beam on, rather than doing the swap wire mod... This is also shown in my other post. Hope this helps...

Thanks everybody! This is what I was looking for. I thought it might just be cool to have something fun in there. Male mentality - I see an empty slot and...

That mentality has gotten me in to a lot of trouble... [sad]

Can some one tell me the relay # which keeps the low beam on instead of doing the wire swap the link to the post no longer works.

I don't remember a relay that kept the low beam on? [confused] What was the thread title and maybe I can find it.
