I am hoping to get this finished before July 4th this year. I will be down the NJ shore for a week and want to atleast have a nice bike there. Iv'e stripped the bike down to the bare bones basically, and I am doing a swingarm swap from a 2006 firebolt. However, the rear subframe is going to be from the firebolt too. Going to have xb front and rear rims, as well as custom rearsets. The bike was pretty nice before the transformation, but I really wanted to have something different. EZ and Jet have seen some of the posts about what Im doing in the past from the original buell forum, so now I am posting up some pics of the transformation. Got to remove the stock subframe as you can see in the later pics. Will be taking the sawzall to it. Almost like a DIY picture thread. lemme know your thoughts...

start of the mock up to determine all the welds....detailed pictures will follow. as you can see, the tanks will be glassed together, so the lines will run reallllly smoothly.

[up][up]

Looks to be a fun build. Are you planning on using the blast suspension on the front? Future plans for xb or 1125 front end? I apologize if the answers are in your first post but the adds are blocking some of the words...

not sure how I plan on doing the front end yet....i just bought the wheels in red. so i will have an xb front rim.....as far as the forks and the triple tree go, I am unsure. depends on how much modification will be done to a very important part in terms of reliability. although every part needs to be reliable :)

picking up my welder this weekend. most likely gunna buy the 90 amp flux welder from harbor freight. since there will be minimal welds...just for the brackets and subframe, i dont see any need for a $500 mig setup. looking forward more and more to this build.

scratch that welder. 90 amps is doodie for penetration for the steel needed to brace my ass. going to have to look into something around 135 amp that uses a standard outlet. damn

***note*** penetration and ass may be in the same senTence, but please do not take it out of context!

Looks good Making it your own! I have some stock standard Firebolt Rims in Sliver I am going to be selling (Possibly) if you are looking PM me.

Update: Got the rear wheel, axle and brake fitted. Its coming along nicely now. Time to invest in a solid welder. Take a look at the pictures. I mocked up the lines of the body, and the seat sits where I would like to have it now.

nice effort there..[up] currently looks like its been fukd up the ars an XB...;) will be interesting to the end result.

Well the whole thing is I want a Bike that people would look at andask me what the hell it is. I would say it was a custom prototype that never made production for the Blast. I feel this should have been the way the Blast looked. More sportier, and ballsier. But that's just the way I want my Blast to look.

Anyone out there know where I can get a red front rim?
