So I just purchased a 2009 buell blast and from what I can tell it is a good running bike. A little peppier than I expected but that has just taken some getting use to.

My questions are. What are some things that I can do to the bike just to ensure that the maintenance is good. The person i bought it from had new tires and brakes but on it and said that everything was fine. it has 26xx miles on it and it use to be a HD riders edge bike.

So what are the best things I can do to just ensure the bike stays running well?
Should I change the spark plug?
Run seafoam through it?

Any suggestions would help and thank you.

If it runs fine, leave it alone. Just maintain and change fluids on a regular basis.

Before modifying anything, get used to riding. Practice in parking lots going as slow as possible without putting your feet down. Get comfortable on your bike and with traffic, before modifying anything to make it faster or quicker.

How often are you suppose to change the fluids? and how much of the fluids does the bike hold?

I am riding every day as long as weather permits. The only issue I seem to having is take off's sense the clutch engages so close to being fully released so i'm having a hard time finding the friction zone were i can slowly take off and then fully release the clutch.

AZmidget91 (spark plug) just saying! Other than that keep it on the road!:p[up]

Engine oil:
1.5q, then warm up the bike and add oil as necessary (once warm) to fill to proper level as indicated on the dipstick. Overfilling can cause excess "puke" from PCV valve and excess oil in airbox as a result.

Transmission:
A little less than 1qt due to residual oil inside. Overfilling can cause sluggish shifting and lack of top-end speed/power.
