so here is my rant for the day. sometimes i get on my high horse. and want to walk out in the garage and kick over my bike in disgust...

now no i have not done it yet, but there are times when i want to.

so today i was thinking about about working on my 07xbr since the parts that i needed came in about two weeks ago.

so i open the box and look at my part and feel i sense of pride when i see in bold letters....
"BUELL"
"MADE IN THE USA"

then i turned the bag over and it says this ********
Made In China

and its like a smack in the face.

rant over...

haha Oakley did the same thing. Used to have made in USA proudly stamped on everything, now its like Indonesia or something

Maybe the bag was made in the USA?

That's what I was thinking.

It's really hard to find stuff made in the USA. If you do it's usually something like "Made in the USA of foreign parts" or something like that. I found out some new balance shoes are made in USA(like 25% of them) so that's all I've bought since I found that out. Not really any more expensive either.

Sadly we do it to ourselves...purely American greed. Why would a manufacturer pay an American worker $50 to make the same part the Chinese will make for $5? They want to maximize their profit margin...why does an exhaust for a buell cost $600? When really it took maybe a $150 in materials? How come I ask about tuning my bike, the response I get is "take my class for $300 and I'll teach you"? **I'm purely trying to make a point about the American market** I'm not bashing these guys...The question you have to ask "Is it worth the money to pay for their time, knowledge, skill?" Unfortunately most folks search for cheaper avenues...As a consumer, we want something for nothing...as a producer, we want the most profit at the least cost. So we use China to meet those demands. It's all jacked up...

Is the "Made in China" printed only the bag? If so, that likely means the bag is from China, but the parts are made in the states...therefore all is well.

China is closing in on us that TV show Shark Tank the woman of the house likes and also hates that show at the same time.
First thing a Lady and her Husband said the Other evening was I want to have the Sippy/Sippi cups made in America, we want to creat jobs here, AND BAMB! the Baldish guy or Ass I call him says ARE you kidding! It would cost too much to make here just let China Make it for a Buck 70/ and you can make some real money! I was like Dang man right here on TV the Dixx is selling out America so Fast you didn't have time to think.
The look on the young Couples Faces was all needed to be said. AHHHHH! don't get me started the China jerks are fixing to Crush the American Dollar and we might as well start a war and get to work taking back this country, they are working the system and if you really do your homework you will find that China is already set up here owning land cause the Kids of the family grew up doing very little so Selling the Land means I can be rich! Sold!- to China!! Selling out OUR Land and all our jobs to become Rich OR Wealthy just makes the Other the Boss of us!Sorry I had to Rant! *Jimi

jimijeans- With you. I work for a global company and because most of the products that we need, are made overseas, you have no choice. If it was made in America, I would buy it! Look at Caterpillar Equipment, most of their manufacturing is in foreign countries. Sad state of affairs indeed...

Guys, China owns this country already. They are our largest debt holder. We've borrowed more money from China than any country before and with our economic climate, we'll never be able to repay all of the debts. And as long as we're making payments, they'll keep lending us money. The more debt they own, the more control the Chinese government will have over us, i.e. this is the reason the federal government doesn't tighten regulation to export industry to China, just another way to "make payment" without having to write a check. Banks don't make money when you pay off loans, they make money by lending you more money. China is our bank!

USA is no longer the premier economy, it's now a global economy and we're just a piece of it.

Yeah I was about to say, even if it was literally made in the USA it might as well be made in china. China owns nearly 3/4 of the US economy.

Economics is just the Greek word for rules of the house.

Imagine how your house would survive if all the things you used to do in your own house were done outside and had to be brought in, you'd have to pay for that. And, at the same time, the product you used to make lost its market because others supplied it cheaper, you'd have to lower your price. But, you still have to buy because you got rid of all the tools and equipment to make your product.

It's just like real life.

Your home can't survive like that, neither can your country.

But the corporations can.

My capitalist rant. What happened to the ability to generate domestic capital?

Are you saying I should bring my grill inside? but that would make my kitchen a sweatshop.[confused]

lol, when i was younger working as a auto detailer at a body shop i learned that american cars were full of foreign parts, guess american sport bikes are too! [down]
