Hey just wanted to throw this post into the web. I have a bad feeling that I'm not going to be able to afford your new machine. But if there come a time that I can trade up my xb12r for one of the new EBR's just let me know. I would hate to let go of my 2007 Firebolt I'm the only owner and its my pride and joy, but if that's what it takes I will do it. The price that everyone's throwing around just seems a little steep for fixed income veteran. Good luck to the both of us.

I'm hoping for a range of bikes to hit all budgets. Anything in the 9-12k range I think will be a hit. Its going to be tough for the average person to drop 20k on a bike even if it is cheaper than the 40k 1190RS.

1125r were in the 12-15k so anything close to that im hoping.

definitely. Although my father got his CR in the fire sale so anything in that price range may sell even better :D

Harley and bmw don't seem to have any trouble selling bikes in the high teens, low twenties. If the street EBRs are a premium bike, people will pay the 20k.

Not if they don't have 20k, **** I would have to sell my first born son which was just born 8/14/2013. Well my daughter is 6 so I will live. Go EBR. O yeah Erik if you are reading this refer to the first post on this chat!

first born son which was just born 8/14/2013

congrats! My second was born yesterday! I'm typing this on my phone in the hospital.

I've got two sons now so I have to wait and see which one I want to keep and which one to trade in on a bike:D

Nice, Congrats to you as well nice to see that you are staying in touch with the site while balancing your home/hospital life. We had to stay in the hospital for a couple extra days because my wife lost alot of blood and had to get a transfusion. I will let yall know if she gets any superpowers.:D

That's some scary stuff. We had both by c-section so they were pretty quick and done. The recovery process is a pain though. Luckily I have a little down time during feedings as I lack the necessary equipment so I take that time to see what the other Buellers are up to. Helps me ease my need to be riding mine.

No one is going to drop 20k on an EBR. Maybe a few people with some disposable income. The average rice rocket rider isnt going to say "oh ****, i need me one of them," then go buy it. You are comparing EBR to a Harley. HD has a MASSIVE base of customers, dealers and parts. EBR while insanely awesome is still a very small company. It will take a few years and a decent priced bike with a good dealer network to get to where they need to be.

this is exactly what I am thinking. Coming from a former Japanese sportbike mindset, I never looked at buell as a real contender simply due to the Harley motor and back then they had a huge dealer support network.

BMW has built its name and because of this they can command a premium price for what people have deemed a premium product. Same with Harley Davidson. EBR has believers here on this forum and on other fan sites but their climb uphill will be a long one if all they release are "ultra premium" 20k+ motorcycles. They have to bring an affordable competitive model to the masses in order to build the foundations, gain ground and establish a customer base.

I hope he makes affordable bikes from $10K-$15K. I mean, I think as a community, us Buellers are the smallest there is. I have people ask me questions about my Scg all the time. People don't know about them, and unless EBR really pushes to get their name out there and advertise, I don't see a following if his bikes are up in the $20Ks. Just my opinion, probably wrong lol.

What's to respond about? I'm sorry if this sounds really cold (ESPECIALLY to a veteran), but why is it Erik Buell's personal responsibility to ensure you can afford his new bike? You said in your original post that if you had to trade in your current ride to afford a new one you'd do it... What does EBR have to do with that? Any dealer in the world will happily pay you for your trade in. What does that have to do with Erik Buell personally?

Again, I'm sorry if that sounded horrible, I don't mean to be a jerk. I'm just confused about this thread.

The thread is supposed to be a joke, but hey you cant get what you want if you don't ask for it, and I would happily pay 15 to 18k for his bike if he puts it on a 20 yr plan! Everyone on this forum should be asking for one I will ride the EBR for free advertisement! :p

Wow, I totally thought you were serious. Is that worse for me that I believed it, or for the state of the world that it would be that believable?

Fatty SS = No I'm a pretty convincing guy. The way I look at it is, its kinda like the lottery everyone wants to win but not everyone plays. I don't think Erik or anyone for that matter would just give away a motorcycle without something to gain, but wouldn't I be mad if he did and I didn't throw it out there that I wanted to be "that guy"
