Hey guys, I am looking to replace my stock HI/LOW headlight switch with a three position TOP/MID/BOTTOM rocker switch. I would prefer to have one that can be placed directly into the existing hole in the handle bar controls rather than a stand alone "add on" unit.

I am looking for something like this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA27C12P2752

So I have two questions here:

1. Does anybody know of one that is the same size as our stock switches?

2. The above example of switches states in its specifications "AC250V, 15A/30A." For a mechanical switch like these, does AC/DC really matter?

AC/DC wont matter so dont worry about that but you want it to handle at least 15-30 amps and 12vdc (any of them that say 120-250vac is more then enough).

Dont know the size, go measure the switch and search from there.

^ yup

I think your gonna have a tough time finding a drop in switch. What are you trying to do with the 3 way? Maybe there is an easier way to your end.

Last winter I had installed a relay controlled 12V power supply to the front of the bike for heated hand grips (which I later removed). Now I am thinking of using that power supply to run a set of LED halo lights.

My original idea was to use the three position switch as an "HIGH-OFF-LOW" switch for the headlights. With the dual light mod I would have both lights on for my high beam, low beam would have only the one light, and I could switch them off during the day, leaving my halo lights as daytime running lights.

I have found this

which may be the way I have to go. I would just prefer to have the "OFF" position be the middle so it would be harder to accidently select.
