How much play does everyone have in there handle? I have a good part of a twist before I get a good pull on the cable. I would say at least 1 good 1/8th in. play. Anyway to tighten it up at all? A really crisp responceis what im looking for...

I cant say I recall any play in my throttle. Its been parked so long my memory may be off [confused] But if I remember right there is zero play. As for adjustment I have no idea. Im sure someone will chime in with an answer, or check the service manual at the top of the page.

Loosen #5 and use #4 to adjust out slack. Then start it and in nuetral turn bars lock-to-lock to make sure it's not too tight - if it is, you'll hear your idle RPM kick up.

there are throttle cable adjusters on the throttle housing. you will want to adjust these to remove the slack in your throttle cable. basically the same as adjusting the slack on a brake cable on a bicycle. do not tighten the cables enough to move the throttle obviously.

looks like i was beat. stupid internet speed.

You want some play in all cables. No slack would be awesome but they will just stretch out faster and be more prone to breaking.

This is too much slack though. When im riding I have to re-adjust my grip on the handle since the range is so far for me to go from idle to full throttle...
